The Ministry of Social Solidarity has renewed its demand for families benefiting from the “Takaful and Karama” cash subsidy to go to the offices of social units in all governorates to receive “Meeza” cards and hand over the old cards, so that they are not subject to the suspension of their dues, starting from January 2023, after dealing with the old cards was completely stopped.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity continues to replace the old “Takaful and Karama” cash support program cards for families benefiting from the cash support program with Meeza bank cards. Social welfare, as part of the Ministry's efforts to expand financial inclusion for all groups benefiting from its services.
Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, had directed to complete the replacement of the old “ Takaful and Karama” cash support program cards of families benefiting from the cash support program with Meeza bank cards within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to expand financial inclusion for all groups benefiting from its services,pointing out that following the directives of the President of the Republic Regarding the implementation of the additional social protection package, the number of beneficiaries increased to 5.2 million families. 4.6 million families are funded from the state budget, and coordination is taking place with the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, which bears thecosts of 600,000 families, in cooperation with NGOs that support cash support activities under umbrella of social protection programmes.
It is noteworthy that the families benefiting from the conditional cash support program “Takaful and Karama” start disbursing their dues on the 15th of each month, including holders of “Meeza” bank cards, as they are allowed to disburse from the machines of the Egyptian National Post Authority, or ATMs from banks, as well. They can make electronic payments and all government transactions and purchases.
